Overview
The Industry Analyst - Insurance will support the Insurance team in strengthening insurance markets, improving risk management capabilities, and expanding access to insurance services globally. The role involves analyzing insurance operations and business models, conducting research, and participating in deal approval processes.
Tasks Summary
- Help screen projects for financial viability, risk, and developmental impact.
- Support appraisal processes and operational reviews of existing clients.
- Assist in the development and deployment of new insurance products.
- Manage relationships with global insurance partners.
- Analyze insurance operations and business models.
- Maintain cost and productivity databases.
- Support the maintenance and updating of financial models and tools.
- Conduct industry, market, and company research.
- Participate in IFC's deal approval process.
- Assist with review of project information and technical documentation during due diligence.
- Prepare investment-related documents.
- Assist with technical monitoring of project portfolio.
- Perform analytics on markets, company performance, and portfolio data.
- Help design and maintain KPI databases.
- Work on lessons learned database, technical handbooks, and knowledge management materials.
- Maintain and update tools and templates.
- Complete filing and dissemination of project reports and documentation.
Experience Requirements
- At least 2-3 years relevant experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the insurance industry in emerging markets.
- Proven track record in producing high-quality market intelligence outputs.
Qualification Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (graduate degree preferred) in Finance, Economics, Actuarial Science, Risk Management, Business Administration, or related field.
