Overview

The regional nurse will support medical officers, nurses, and staff counsellors in areas of staff health and safety, providing hygiene and safety training, personal first aid training, and reviewing medical and casualty response.

Tasks Summary
  • Maintain professional ethics, integrity, and medical confidentiality.
  • Ensure a secure and private working environment for confidential medical information.
  • Provide timely and responsive communication for inquiries.
  • Promote the health, safety, and wellbeing of WFP personnel and their dependents.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor health initiatives.
  • Expand and strengthen Travel Health Services.
  • Lead and coordinate the network of trained Ergonomic Workstation Assessors.
  • Ensure consistent, timely, and quality management of medico-administrative cases.
  • Record all clinical, occupational-health, and administrative interventions in Cority.
  • Strengthen early detection and reporting mechanisms for disease outbreaks.
  • Maintain updated regional travel-health protocols.
  • Monitor regional outbreak intelligence and evaluate mitigation measures.
  • Manage incoming medical documentation.
  • Consolidate regional health statistics and provide analytical reports.
  • Implement and coordinate staff health trainings.
  • Participate in emergency response planning and preparedness.
  • Develop, update, and promote SOPs for staff protection.
  • Support assessment and quality review of medical facilities.
  • Assess and respond to increases in disease incidents among staff.
  • Identify staff experiencing stress, burnout, or psychological concerns.
  • Ensure strong collaboration and coordination with relevant personnel.
  • Provide travel health kits to employees and ensure timely replenishment.
  • Maintain active presence and engagement in regional wellness platforms.
Experience Requirements
  • At least five years of experience in healthcare, UN or NGO deep field experience.
  • Vast experience in outbreak response and emergencies.
  • Creation of health initiatives such as vaccination campaign, precancer screening, cardiovascular risk screening.
  • Management of a travel clinic.
  • Workshop & presentation training of various health programmes.
Qualification Requirements
  • A tertiary degree in public health nursing or other healthcare qualifications.
  • Professional trainer’s certification related to COVID-19 or other infectious Diseases, ACLS, BLS, IFAK and ETB.

Languages Required: Fluency in French

Languages Preferred: knowledge in English

Contract Duration: 1 year (renewable)
