Sportjugend im Landessportbund Brandenburg e.V. KinderGarten Schulplatz1 Volunteer opportunity: Sport and health oriented after-school care center ''Schulplatz 1''
Through his/her daily engagement, the volunteer will be integrated in the "on the move and health orientated" program and will support the staff/pedagogues during their service, playing games, doing sports, preparing various workshops and organizing fun activities for the children, aged between 6-12 years old. The main goal is the maximization of children´s sport activities in their daily life. In addition, the volunteer should communicate to the children that doing sports and being active is fun. In this way, this approach will lead the children to a better health awareness. The volunteer will assist the educators with all kinds of activities and help them in their daily work. Movement and health-related offers are only one part of the activities offered by the after-school care center. In fact, the educators offer children workshops and projects in the fields of music, environment, geography etc. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements Accommodation: The volunteer will live in one of our 3 ESC volunteer accommodations in Potsdam. Each volunteer has his/her own room in a well-furnished and fully equipped flat. A monthly food allowance of 333,00 € will be provided via bank transfer. Monthly pocket money of 210,00 € will be provided via bank transfer. Local Transport: A monthly travel card to use public transport within Germany (Deutschlandticket) will be made available to the volunteer. The volunteer will also receive a bike. Training during the activity Our organization offers the volunteer the possibility to take part in a language course, according to his/her current level of German. All participants must take part in two mandatory ESC seminars during their project: On-Arrival and Mid-Term Training. These are opportunities to meet volunteers from other countries, understand the EU values and reflect on the ongoing project. Participant profile The organisation expects the volunteer to be: - interested in work with children - interested in sport oriented work in the after school care center - interested in the planning and implementation of sport orientated events and projects - dedicated, commitmed and creative (e.g.: skills in music, sport and games, dance or general be on good terms with children) - aware of being the role model - sociable, friendly, patient and open-minded - willing to learn new skills - interested in German culture and language and willing to learn about other countries.
