Acción contra el Hambre Manila, Philippines Volunteer opportunity: VOLUNTEER IN COMMUNICATION - THE PHILIPPINES
You will gain insights from the development and implementation of communication strategies at the organizational level to enhance external communication: support the coordination of media events, interviews and press conferences, development of multimedia content, and social media management. You will have the chance to help strengthen the organizational internal communication and gain knowledge and expertise in preparing, facilitating, and monitoring communication guidelines, and support raising awareness campaigns and plans at the project/community level. You will also support visibility activities on the ESC Volunteers project. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements Accommodation, travel costs, visa, pre-deployment medical check + vaccinations (only if mandatory for the country), allowance will be covered. In case of need, Fewer Opportunities support measures will be identified. A monthly Subsistence Lump Sum will be provided to cover basic needs such as food and personal hygiene items. Training during the activity The Volunteer will attend online training prior to deployment and on-site induction at the arrival to her/his deployment Mission. During the deployment additional training will also be offered to improve the volunteers’ skills and competences, via Action against Hunger Training Channel and external training organizations and platforms. Participant profile A degree or experience in areas related to Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Development, Communications, Social Sciences, Marketing is preferable but not indispensable. English C1. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, interest towards areas such as photography, social media, content creation, story-telling, and basic graphic design and passion for addressing humanitarian issues and contributing to impactful storytelling of cross-cutting themes. Eligibility: Candidates must be 18 to 35 years old, reside in one of the eligible countries (EU Member State, North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Turkey), and have completed the compulsory Humanitarian Aid Volunteering training. When adding together this new volunteering opportunity and any previous participation in ESC volunteering programs, the total duration cannot exceed 12 months.
