Overview
Support and coordinate Information Management activities, including data management, surveys and assessments, and production of technical documents, to support programme planning, migration management and public policy formulation.
Tasks Summary
- Assist in the planning, coordination, implementation and monitoring of project activities.
- Compile, summarize, analyse, and present information/data on specific project topics.
- Monitor budget implementation and propose adjustments.
- Act as focal point for administrative coordination of project implementation.
- Draft status reports and correspondence on project issues.
- Prepare and update reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, and other documentation.
- Organize meetings, workshops and training sessions.
- Respond to complex information requests and inquiries.
- Set up and maintain files/records.
- Participate in meetings and conferences.
- Maintain effective liaison and coordination with local authorities, partners, United Nation agencies, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, donors and other stakeholders.
- Monitor work of implementing partners and report non-compliance.
- Provide inputs for the development of Standard Operations Procedures (SOP) and concept papers.
- Provide general support for the development of new projects.
- Provide guidance/training and assist in coordinating and monitoring work of other staff in the unit.
- May supervise other staff as assigned.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in data management and analysis and evidence generation to support the formulation and implementation of public policies.
- Work experience with vulnerable people, including migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, and returnees.
- Knowledge in planning, monitoring, and evaluating research processes, studies, and implementation of objectives.
- Experience in different data collection methodologies and in handling confidential data.
- Ability to develop questionnaires and use appropriate data collection and statistical analysis tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, inter-institutional articulation, and ability to prepare clear and concise documents.
- Experience interacting with government managers, national and international institutions, United Nations agencies, and non-governmental and civil society organizations.
- Experience in social public policies.
Qualification Requirements
- School diploma with six years of relevant experience; or,
- Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with four years of relevant professional experience.
