Overview

The Strategic Information Specialist will provide data analytics support to the Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights Branch, focusing on generating and using high-quality data across the UNFPA Supplies Partnership and the Family Planning Programme.

Tasks Summary
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of data related to programme Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Gates Foundation Grants and other related programme initiatives.
  • Lead efforts to analyze, interpret, and model data related to programme performance management.
  • Anticipate and develop new analytic outputs to aid in decision-making.
  • Create data visualizations and reports to inform data-driven decision-making.
  • Contribute to the adoption of technologies for the management and dissemination of data.
  • Maintain alignment between the UNFPA Supplies Programme Results Framework and evolving technical needs.
  • Contribute to the identification of new data requirements and gaps, design data collection tools, and maintain data management protocols.
  • Implement data quality assurance processes.
  • Provide technical data analysis support to regional and country offices.
  • Develop materials and approaches to enhance skills in data collection and analysis.
  • Develop and prepare analysis and knowledge products, including presentations.
  • Prepare briefing notes.
  • Represent UNFPA in relevant technical working groups and forums.
  • Coordinate UNFPA’s engagement in key data partnerships.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to strengthen data systems and promote knowledge sharing.
  • Perform any other duties that may be required.
Experience Requirements
  • At least 7 years of progressively responsible relevant experience in data collection, analysis and visualization for family planning or reproductive health.
  • In-depth knowledge of key statistical packages and data visualization software, such as Power BI.
  • Knowledge of and proven experience in reproductive health programming, including programme and financial management, results-based management principles and monitoring and evaluation.
  • Experience with building dashboards and routine data collection systems at the country level is strongly preferred.
Qualification Requirements

Advanced university degree in statistics, demography, public health, economics, data management, or other related fields.

Languages Required: Fluency in English

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of other official UN languages is an asset.
