Overview

The Social Cohesion, Peace Consolidation and Conflict Prevention Officer will coordinate with assistants to strengthen social cohesion and prevent conflict in Timor-Leste by empowering excluded groups through inclusive community engagement, civic education, and dialogue-based activities.

Tasks Summary
  • Field-Based Supervision: Ensures effective implementation of social cohesion activities by facilitating coordination meetings, providing guidance and technical support, and promoting adherence to project methodologies.
  • Coordination: Serves as the focal point for coordinating day-to-day activities, supporting planning and logistical coordination with stakeholders, and integrating conflict-sensitive approaches.
  • Monitoring & Reporting: Regularly monitors progress, identifies challenges, and reports lessons learned to the Project Manager, ensuring project targets are met.
  • Communication: Assists in organizing awareness-raising sessions, developing communication material, and drafting social media content.
  • Community Engagement: Builds strong relationships with stakeholders to foster community participation and ownership of project activities.
  • Capacity Building and Conflict Prevention: Assists in implementing the project, coordinates capacity-building activities, and facilitates dialogue spaces.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in coordination, monitoring, and/or organizing projects implementation in the field.
  • Practical experience in project implantation, field monitoring, and basic documentation.
  • Strong understanding of peace consolidation and social cohesion, and gender equality in Timor-Leste context, with ability to apply conflict-sensitive and gender-responsive approaches in field work.
  • Strong ability to organize and facilitate community-based activities, including trainings, workshops, and awareness campaigns.
Qualification Requirements

Bachelor's degree in public administration, international relations or development studies, business administration or management or any other related areas.
