Overview
Consultants will provide high quality translation and interpretation services for UNESCO programmes in Uzbekistan, covering English, Uzbek, and Russian.
Tasks Summary
- Provide high-quality interpretation (consecutive and simultaneous) services for UNESCO activities to and from English, Uzbek, and Russian in online or in-person meetings, conferences or other events
- Provide high-quality translation in written documents, presentations, policy papers and training materials etc.
- Ensure accurate terminology aligned with national usage and UNESCO standards; apply UNESCO Style Guide for translations into English.
- Ensure use of gender neutral language in line with UNESCO’s gender strategy.
- Maintain accuracy, clarity, and stylistic consistency across all translated materials.
- Demonstrate sensitivity to cultural and social nuances relevant to Uzbekistan.
- Ensure consistent use of terminology, abbreviations, acronyms, formatting, and footnotes.
Experience Requirements
- Proven experience in translation between English, Uzbek, and Russian (minimum 3 years preferred).
- Experience translating technical, educational, cultural, or institutional documents is an asset.
Qualification Requirements
University degree in translation, linguistics, philology, social sciences, humanities, or related fields.
