Projects and Partnerships Intern

Overview

Support project and partnerships efforts of the UN SDG Action Campaign through research, writing, editing, outreach, and event organization.

Tasks Summary

• Providing research, writing, and editing support for the Campaign’s key initiatives and events
• Supporting the Campaign’s outreach and partnerships efforts
• Supporting the organizational management of event trackers and partner trackers using Excel and Salesforce
• Supporting on event organization, including liaison with partners, and logistics
• Supporting the Heroes of Tomorrow: UN SDG Action Awards programme and ceremony preparations
• Supporting the maintenance of Campaign websites
• Other relevant tasks as deemed necessary by the supervisor

Experience Requirements

• Outstanding organizational skills, with attention to detail
• Exceptional writing skills
• Creative open-minded team player with a willingness to learn
• Familiarity with the UN system in general
• Familiarity with the SDGs and Agenda 2030 desirable
• Proficiency with Microsoft-based systems (e.g., Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams) is desirable
• First work experience in the project/event management field is desirable
• First work experience in the international development field is desirable

Qualification Requirements

• Be enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme (such as a master’s programme, or higher)
• Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (such as bachelor’s degree or equivalent)
• Have recently graduated with a university degree (as defined in (a) and (b) above) and, if selected, must start the internship within one-year of graduation
• Be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program and undertake the internship as part of this program

Other Details

Languages Required: Proficiency in English

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of one of the other five official languages of the UN (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) would be an asset

Contract Duration: 6 months

Remuneration: Intern will be given monthly stipend in accordance with the provisions of the UNDP Internship policy
