Overview

This role offers an opportunity to shape the Treasury Middle Office function, contributing to financial stability and operational efficiency. The position provides exposure to treasury activities including banking relations, cash management, and risk management.

Tasks Summary
  • Monitor cash positions and cash forecasting across global bank accounts.
  • Review payment routing and assist in escalating payment issues.
  • Oversee bank reconciliations and effect payment instructions.
  • Review bank charges and interest postings.
  • Support statement and payment connectivity with banks.
  • Contribute to books closure processes.
  • Support the establishment and maintenance of banking arrangements.
  • Build treasury relationships with regional and local offices.
  • Advise field offices on cash management solutions.
  • Monitor compliance of using prepayment and petty cash accounts.
  • Review and approve financial transactions in compliance with policies.
  • Develop dashboards, monitor risks, and provide analyses on banking & cash management.
  • Monitor and manage access to banking portals and signatory panels.
  • Lead, coordinate, and oversee daily execution of financial transactions in the TMS.
  • Perform risk assessments of cash management instruments.
  • Report Treasury KPI/KRI regularly.
  • Assist on audit requests.
  • Review and approve changes to the TMS core data.
  • Formulate business requirements for treasury related systems.
  • Contribute innovative ideas to treasury processes and solutions.
  • Contribute to the improvement of banking policies and guidelines.
  • Lead the team and shape the Treasury Middle Office function.
  • Establish team priorities and supervise work plan implementation.
  • Define clear objectives, performance measurements, and standards.
  • Promote collaboration and provide direction and guidance to the team.
  • Contribute practical knowledge to policy and procedural developments.
  • Drive innovation by recommending process efficiency initiatives.
  • Actively contribute to global knowledge sharing.
  • Support organizational development by facilitating knowledge sharing.
  • Plan and implement capacity-building initiatives.
  • Provide training on organizational processes, rules, policies, and systems.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive work environment.
Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Banking, Economics or related fields with 7 years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree (or equivalent) in any of the above or related fields with 5 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Relevant experience is work in Finance, Banking, Treasury or related areas.
  • Experience using a Treasury Management Systems.
  • Experience in leading a team is desirable.
  • Experience of working in multicultural environments or UN system organizations in a developing country is desired.
  • Experience with treasury in fragile contexts and developing/frontier markets desired.
  • Exposure and experience working with other treasury technology (e.g., trading platforms, payment connections, single and multi-bank platforms) and implementation experience is desired.
  • Specific experience in Middle Office/Back Office operations is desired.
  • Knowledge of financial instruments (Fixed Income, Money Markets, and options) transaction processing is desired.
  • Experience using SWIFT is desired.
Qualification Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Banking, Economics or related fields.
  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in any of the above or related fields.
  • A globally or nationally recognized professional certificate in Treasury is desired.
