Overview

Ensure the qualitative implementation of NRC’s Shelter and WASH programme in targeted displacement sites, while maintaining safe, inclusive, and accountable camp management practices. Provide essential support to colleagues and local partners by overseeing day-to-day site management functions.

Tasks Summary
  • Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks, and guidelines as well government rules and regulations
  • Assist with the implementation of the shelter/WASH portfolio according to plan of action
  • Preparation and development of technical status reports as required by management
  • Preparation of weekly work plans and distribution plans
  • Ensure proper filing of technical documents in both hard and soft copies
  • Ensure that projects target beneficiary sites/units most in need, and explore and assess new and better ways to assist
  • Promote and share ideas for technical improvement in relation to both the “hard” and “soft” components of Shelter/WASH programming
  • Actively participate in capacity-building trainings, workshops, and seminars organized by NRC.
  • Ensure that gender and protection mainstreaming are carried out at the field level.
  • Collaborate with teams from other CC’s to ensure that project beneficiaries are provided with the full packages of services available through NRC’s programming according to the beneficiaries' specific and self-identified needs.
  • Contribute and participate in periodic and need-based market assessments to inform project design decisions.
  • Providing technical support and leadership to partners and communities implementing Shelter/WASH or related activities, including construction works.
  • Responsible for following and supervising the NRC CCCM Local implementing partner and conducting the meeting with related stakeholders at the site/government level.
  • Support the Shelter/WASH coordinators in developing and/or revising the CC Strategies for Shelter/WASH by providing Area-level analysis and recommendations for needs and response options.
  • Work in collaboration with the CCs team to identify and develop strategic partnerships, monitor the implementation, assess the performance, monitor shelter/WASH activities within the agreed timeframe, and ensure the quality and quantity of interventions and report field-level progress based on the weekly/monthly implementation work plan.
  • Build and maintain mutually respectful relationships with the site management team/local partner, service providers, local authorities, IDP community members, as well as host community members
  • Overseeing all technical assessments undertaken by NRC for related activities in targeted areas, identifying needs, gaps in service provision, and duplication of efforts at IDP site and conducting Sector-Specific, Multi-Sector Assessments, Market Assessments, etc.
  • Responsibility for ensuring adequate accountability for Shelter/WASH technical documentation, including Bill of quantities, monitoring reports…, as per NRC policies and the requirements of management for Shelter/WASH or related activities, and ensure all program data are accurately collected and reported;
  • Any other tasks as assigned by the immediate superior.
Experience Requirements
  • At least one years of working experience supervising, monitoring, and mentoring local implementing partners
  • At least 2 years of working experience in IDPs site management
  • Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suites
  • Basic knowledge in developing and following through on the technical implementation of Shelter/WASH construction projects, and proven experience in producing technical reports and progress reports.
Qualification Requirements

• University degree in a relevant field (e.g., social sciences, engineering, humanitarian studies, or related discipline).
