Temporary Appointment: Finance Associate, GS-6 Level, Ha Noi, Viet Nam (for Vietnamese Nationals)

Overview

The Finance Associate will be responsible for providing technical and specialized tasks in finance functions, ensuring accurate and timely delivery in compliance with UNICEF financial rules and regulations.

Tasks Summary

• Advises and assists on reporting, data compilation, and queries on pledges, funds received, and adjustments.
• Verifies and ensures accuracy of invoices and calculations for submission.
• Maintains financial records and monitoring systems for expenditures, balances, and payments.
• Selects and enters data from documents, verifying accuracy and completeness.
• Prepares recurring and special financial reports.
• Closes year-end accounts and assists in preparing related reports.
• Advises international staff, experts, and consultants on financial matters.
• Initiates correspondence to verify data and obtain additional information.
• Maintains liaison with local banks for daily information and prepares bank reconciliations.
• Prepares cost estimates and participates in budget analysis.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum six years of clerical experience in the area of finance and accounting is required.
• A bachelor’s degree may replace three years of related work experience. A master’s degree may replace additional two years.

Qualification Requirements

Completion of secondary education is required. Professional and/or university courses related to the field of work are highly desirable.

Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in English is required.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chines, French, Russian or Spanish) or local language of the duty station is considered an asset.
