Overview
Design, plan, and implement community engagement activities to support health and nutrition programs in both development and humanitarian contexts. Support the operationalization of community-based participatory approaches and promote continuous learning in community engagement.
Tasks Summary

- - Provide technical and administrative support for community engagement activities.
- - Select platforms for community engagement and oversee coordination with stakeholders.
- - Identify and propose community engagement programme/strategy recommendations.
- - Apply community engagement skills in humanitarian emergencies.
- - Represent UNICEF in partnerships and manage joint project agreements.
- - Collaborate with partners to link and coordinate community engagement approaches.
- - Cultivate resource mobilization opportunities and contribute to proposals.
- - Identify, recruit, and collaborate with consultants and vendors.
- - Plan, use, and track resources, verifying compliance with guidelines.
- - Contribute to financial planning, budget planning, and financial management.
- - Advocate for the inclusion of community engagement participatory approaches in sectoral workplans.
- - Identify, disseminate, and adopt best practices and innovative approaches.
- - Coordinate with stakeholders for the implementation of community engagement humanitarian actions.
- - Identify, design, and organize community engagement training materials and opportunities.
- - Use and adapt existing UNICEF learning resources to build capacity.
- - Contribute to the development and institutionalization of best practices.
- - Provide technical assistance for the uptake of community engagement norms and standards.
- - Coordinate and provide inputs into community engagement capacity assessments.
- - Identify and mobilize resources to support capacity development.
- - Provide technical support and capacity building in community-based participatory approaches.
- - Identify and contribute to the development of mechanisms to strengthen health and nutrition systems for community engagement in humanitarian contexts.
Experience Requirements
A minimum of two years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas is required: social development programme planning, communication for development or social and behaviour change, public advocacy or another related area. Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered an asset.
Qualification Requirements
A university degree (Bachelor’s or higher) in a social and behavioral science, including sociology, anthropology, communication studies/communication for development, psychology and/or related field is required.
