Overview
This consultancy aims to strengthen UNICEF’s advocacy and communication efforts at the provincial level to improve outcomes for children and young people in Pakistan. The role involves developing and implementing communication strategies, creating compelling content, and enhancing visibility for UNICEF's work.
Tasks Summary
- Provide support with developing and implementing a provincial-level communication and advocacy strategy and work plan.
- Conduct stakeholder and audience analysis, define core messages and communication channels.
- Monitor and evaluate the Communication and Advocacy strategy.
- Identify, research, and develop human-interest stories and case studies.
- Produce and edit high-quality photos and videos.
- Develop engaging multimedia assets, including video scripts, captions, and infographics.
- Work with vendors to supervise the production and design of multimedia content and publications.
- Create compelling social media content.
- Document key events and activities.
- Document project progress, results, and lessons learned.
- Produce communication and advocacy materials for donor reporting, programmes, and internal knowledge sharing.
- Design and deliver workshops to strengthen communication and advocacy skills of UNICEF and partner staff.
- Monitor UNICEF and donor branding at project field sites.
- Gather high-quality communication products for field reporting.
- Coordinate and support field missions for donors, media, celebrities, and influencers.
- Prepare key messages and communication products during emergencies.
- Initiate and support the participation of children and adolescents in events and activities.
Experience Requirements
- A minimum of two (2) years of relevant and progressively responsible professional work experience in mass media and/or digital communication, journalism, or development communications is required with a Master’s degree; or a minimum of four (4) years of relevant and progressively responsible professional work experience in the same fields with a Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience in international development organizations or the UN—including producing, curating, and monitoring creative mass and digital media content, managing advocacy events and campaigns (both online and in-person), and leading youth-focused engagement and advocacy initiatives, is a strong asset.
Qualification Requirements
• A first University Degree (Bachelor's) in Communication, Journalism, Marketing, International Development or any related field, including Marketing and Advertisement, Media Sciences or and other relevant field.
