Field Associate

Overview

The Field Associate will perform a variety of functions related to Field activities in the assigned location, reporting to the Associate Protection Officer. The role involves monitoring the situation, collecting data, and supporting programme implementation.

Tasks Summary

• Monitor the situation in the AoR, collect data and report to supervisor.
• Monitor the implementation of UNHCR programme and assistance items.
• Provide guidance and support to partners.
• Undertake visits to assess needs of persons of concern.
• Maintain contacts with local authorities and implementing partners.
• Act as interpreter when required.
• Contribute to status and progress reports.
• Assist in administrative tasks.
• Inform and act on reports received on persons of concern.
• Assist in reception, registration and provision of assistance.
• Negotiate with local authority counterparts, partners and populations of concern.
• Represent UNHCR in physical monitoring of projects.
• Keep abreast of developments in the AOR and report impact on operations.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Experience Requirements

3 years relevant experience with High School Diploma; or 2 years relevant work experience with Bachelor or equivalent or higher. Desirable: Completion of UNHCR’s mandatory learning programmes or specific training relevant to functions of the position. UNHCR field experience.

Qualification Requirements

High School Diploma or Bachelor or equivalent or higher.

Other Details

Languages Required: Knowledge of English and UN working language of the duty station if not English.
