Overview
The Financial Capabilities Intern will support the IRC in NJ’s Financial Capabilities program by providing financial coaching and counseling services to program participants and coordinating financial education workshops.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one financial coaching for clients
- Conduct budgets and financial surveys with clients
- Track client notes and progress in a spreadsheet and on ETO software
- Communicate effectively in person and by phone
- Facilitate monthly literacy workshops for clients
- Accompany clients to bank appointments
- Adhere to IRC policies, particularly those related to confidentiality and client privacy
- Other related duties as assigned
Required Experience
The ideal candidates will have prior experience in the field of personal financial management, preferably in a counseling or coaching role.
Qualifications
- High school degree required
- Must be enrolled in post-secondary institution or have graduated from a post-secondary institution within the last 2 years.
