Overview
Support the Economic Empowerment Department with workforce development and career development programs. Assist IRC clients in attaining self-sufficiency through employment, including case management, employer outreach, job search, and placement.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Workforce Development Team with employment services and case management.
- Create action plans, identify additional services, and monitor client progress.
- Conduct one-on-one meetings with clients to set goals.
- Assist clients with resume development, cover letters, and interview preparation.
- Track client meetings and progress in case notes and spreadsheets.
- Research employment and vocational training opportunities in NJ.
- Gain an understanding of IRC services for client referrals.
- Research other direct assistance programs for client referrals.
- Communicate effectively with clients in person and via telephone.
- Adhere to IRC policies on confidentiality and client privacy.
- Work with clients from multiple backgrounds with varying English skills.
Required Experience
Prior experience in the field of workforce development and/or social service work with immigrants and refugees. Prior experience in the field of job development or job readiness programming. Experience working with immigrants or refugees in a social service setting.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred; will consider a college student. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
