Overview

The National Policy Expert will integrate climate adaptation into agriculture under the Delta Plan 2100 by coordinating data analysis, scenario assessments, and policy reviews. The role aims to strengthen resilience, align policies, and promote sustainable practices for long-term food security.

Tasks Summary
  • Support to organize stakeholder consultation workshops.
  • Study how climate change affects Bangladesh’s agriculture and link it to the Bangladesh Delta Plan 2100.
  • Collect and analyze agricultural and climate data and develop a report.
  • Conduct scenario analysis considering various agro-climatic conditions and validate future projections.
  • Review and analyze climate-related policy, regulatory, and incentive frameworks and propose strengthening strategies.
  • Align national agricultural policies with Bangladesh Delta Plan 2100.
  • Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) for monitoring agricultural projects.
  • Develop data collection and analysis tools for monitoring KPIs and Action Plan.
  • Performs other relevant duties as required and assigned.
Experience Requirements
  • 10 years’ experience in policy analysis related to food security and agriculture.
  • Expertise in analyzing climate change impacts on agriculture and aligning strategies with Bangladesh Delta Plan 2100.
  • Strong skills in agricultural data collection, scenario modelling, and policy analysis for climate-resilient planning.
  • Proven ability to organize and facilitate multi-stakeholder workshops, consultations, and validation sessions.
  • Experience in developing monitoring frameworks, KPIs, and tools for agricultural project evaluation.
  • Competence in preparing high-quality technical reports, guidelines, and knowledge products.
  • Skilled in capacity building, stakeholder coordination, and fostering partnerships across government, and development partners.
  • Familiarity with food security issues, policies, the planning and monitoring context of Bangladesh and related institutional setting.
Qualification Requirements

• Advanced University degree or equivalent in Development Economics, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Sciences or closely related field

Languages Required: • Working knowledge of English (level C)

Languages Preferred:

Contract Duration: Six Months with possibility of extension
