Overview

The Supply Chain Officer will be responsible and accountable for supply chain activities, guided by Supply Chain Management (SCM) objectives to deliver quality goods/services to beneficiaries at optimal price and in a timely manner.

Tasks Summary
  • Contribute to strategic planning for supply chain activities.
  • Conduct logistics capacity assessment and market research.
  • Coordinate and monitor supply chain management tasks and activities.
  • Contribute to the management of supply chain activities including planning, procurement, warehouse management, transport and distribution.
  • Identify supply chain bottlenecks and propose process optimization.
  • Review procurement requests and evaluate vendor performance.
  • Solicit bids, quotations and tender documents.
  • Liaise with programme management and provide technical support for tendering processes.
  • Ensure timely submission of asset, procurement and other reports.
  • Contribute to the establishment and management of internal control mechanisms for SCM process.
  • Support and monitor the maintenance and repair of office facilities.
  • Provide training and guidance to SCM staff.
  • Participate and engage actively in UN inter-agency meetings and forums related to supply chain management.
Experience Requirements
  • Master’s degree with two years of relevant professional experience; or University degree with four years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience in managing diverse procurement and logistics operations.
  • Demonstrated experience in training and supervising teams of co-workers, managing vendors and suppliers.
Qualification Requirements
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, or a related field from an accredited academic institution.
  • University degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, or a related field from an accredited academic institution.
Other Details

Languages Required: • Fluency in English is required (oral and written).

Languages Preferred: • Working knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) is an advantage.
