Overview
The Programme Policy Officer will support the delivery of programmes and interventions promoting agricultural production and productivity through regenerative agricultural practices, post-harvest handling, and market linkages. The role focuses on a new one-year project aimed at enhancing food security and agroecosystem restoration.
Tasks Summary
- Lead innovative technology transfer initiatives for smallholder farmers.
- Act as a liaison and coordination focal point with local partners.
- Coordinate the dissemination of information and promote innovations to improve agricultural production.
- Provide specialized technical support to cooperating partners.
- Support capacity strengthening initiatives by contributing to training design and delivery.
- Ensure the integration of gender, protection, and community engagement approaches.
- Support the identification, assessment, and targeting of farmer organizations.
- Provide technical guidance on good agronomic practices, regenerative agriculture, post-harvest handling, and market linkages.
- Facilitate partnerships and strengthen service delivery models.
- Support robust monitoring and reporting by reviewing CP progress reports.
- Serve as a field-level focal point for addressing operational challenges.
Experience Requirements
- 5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience working in a comparable and/or relevant position in the public service, private sector, or an International Organization.
Qualification Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture/Agronomy, Horticulture, Agriculture Economics, Agribusiness, Agricultural Extension, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
