SECONDMENT - Head of Africa Cybercrime Operations Desk

Overview

This role serves as a liaison between African cybercrime law enforcement units and the INTERPOL Global Complex of Innovation in Singapore. It coordinates operational activities with regional teams and advises African cybercrime agencies.

Tasks Summary

• Develop and implement operational plans targeting African regional cyberthreats.
• Coordinate activities and initiatives to prevent, reduce, and detect cybercrime in Africa.
• Ensure victims are offered support and mitigation strategies.
• Undertake comprehensive risk assessments for operational events.
• Supervise the secure handling and dissemination of intelligence.
• Conduct operational briefings, tasking, and debriefings.
• Support media briefings when necessary.
• Deliver presentations on cybercrime or cybersecurity.
• Lead, inspire, and develop the Africa Cybercrime Operations Desk team.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships and partnerships.
• Apply INTERPOL’s internal policies and guidelines.
• Perform any other duties as required.

Experience Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience in investigating cybercrime.
• Strong background in conducting operations in cybercrime.
• Knowledge in international co-operation/investigations.
• Experience in working or studying in an international environment.
• Demonstrated experience in staff supervision.
• Experienced police officer, police staff or official able to demonstrate equivalent professional experience/training in the sector of police area/law enforcement agencies.

Qualification Requirements

• At least five years’ University education in a related field.

Other Details

Languages Required: • Fluency in English is required.

Languages Preferred: • Proficiency in another official working language of the Organization (Arabic, French or Spanish) would be an additional asset.

Contract Duration: 36.00 months
