UNEP Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) Internship for Risk Centre - Support for Risk Programming

Overview

The UNEP Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) Risk Centre is seeking an intern to support with technical enhancements and assist in the delivery of a programme of events and publications for risk professionals.

Tasks Summary

• - Assist with implementing work related to the UNEP FI Risk Centre’s 2026 programme.
• - Provide technical assistance in creating a database of risk tools and guidance.
• - Work with other technical teams to build foundations for a sustainability risk information database.
• - Research sustainability-related regulations, guidance, and tools.
• - Evaluate and compile a database of financial sector practices related to sustainability risk.
• - Assist with drafting, fact-checking, and editing publications.
• - Support the day-to-day coordination of communications.
• - Assist with preparations for events.
• - Support Risk Centre operations.
• - Build a network and rapport with members, partners, and other UN teams.
• - Work on other relevant tasks to support programme success.

Experience Requirements

No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme.

Qualification Requirements

• - Enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
• - Enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent).
• - Graduated with a university degree and commence the internship within a one-year period of graduation.
• - Academic background in economics, data science, computer science, natural sciences, environmental science, public policy, sustainable development, business administration, or another related field.

Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in oral and written English and Spanish is required.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of another UN Language is desirable.

Contract Duration: 6 months

Work Modality: Remote

Remuneration: Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
