Supports nutrition activities in all program areas, including assessments, planning, and implementation of specific feeding programs. Contributes to assessing the nutritional situation and building the capacity of local teams.
Tasks Summary
- Designs, plans, and implements nutrition assessments.
- Designs and implements Economic and Security (EcoSec) assessments incorporating nutrition components.
- Identifies causes of malnutrition and designs responses.
- Evaluates and monitors the nutrition situation and participates in immediate response.
- Incorporates nutrition considerations in economic security programmes.
- Participates in preventing and treating acute malnutrition and micronutrient deficiencies.
- Evaluates the impact of nutrition and economic security interventions.
- Reviews and adapts nutrition inputs/interventions in emergency and recovery responses.
- Advises on factors contributing to EcoSec activity implementation.
- Identifies and implements capacity building initiatives related to nutrition.
- Maintains an overview of nutrition project materials.
- Supports timely delivery of items to beneficiaries.
- Contributes to institutional reporting.
Experience Requirements
• Minimum of 4 years professional experience in humanitarian work, especially in emergencies.
Qualification Requirements
• University degree in the field of nutrition, dietetics, medicine, nursing, public health, or related field.
