Overview

The Assistant Administrative Officer will be responsible for supporting human resource management, budget and finance, and general administrative duties within the Office of the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Caracas.

Tasks Summary
  • Undertakes actions related to human resource activities including recruitment, placement, promotion, performance appraisal, job classification reviews, separation of staff, and training.
  • Provides information regarding conditions of service, duties, responsibilities, privileges, and entitlements.
  • Assists in developing the unit’s work program and budget, and monitors budget/work program.
  • Supports the implementation of financial database procedures and systems.
  • Contributes to ensuring effective procurement processes.
  • Prepares cost analyses, financial reports, and proposals for new activities.
  • Contributes to the development of budgetary and financial administration guidelines.
  • Performs other related administrative duties such as operational travel programmes, visas, monitoring accounts and payments, logistical and administrative support, physical space planning, and office technology needs.
Experience Requirements

For candidates with a first-level university degree, a minimum of two (2) years of experience in administration, finance, accounting, human resources management or related area is required. No experience is needed for candidates with an advanced university degree. Experience working on Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, such as Umoja and/or Inspira is desirable. Experience working in the United Nations Common System or similar international organization is desirable.

Qualification Requirements

Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in business or public administration, finance, accounting, law or related field. A first-level university degree (Bachelor's degree or equivalent) in combination with two additional years of qualified work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
