Overview

The Programme Analyst (Social Work) will support the implementation of the Periferia Viva – Maré Project in partnership with the Municipality of Rio de Janeiro. The role involves providing technical support for community assessment reports and participatory methodologies.

Tasks Summary
  • Provide technical advice and support for project activities.
  • Coordinate the implementation of the project's work programme.
  • Maintain communication with counterparts and local partners.
  • Perform technical, administrative, and management activities.
  • Provide technical support in capacity building, data management, public policies, project planning, social mobilization, community projects, construction management, project funding, and advocacy.
  • Provide information for systematization and exchange of successful practices.
  • Conduct technical activities to meet project deadlines and objectives.
  • Provide inputs for risk identification and mitigation.
  • Attend meetings and conferences.
  • Document expert group meetings, forums, consultations, and training events.
  • Prepare reports for partners and internal reports.
  • Participate in missions as requested.
  • Complete indicated courses and training activities, including the BSAFE security course.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum six (6) years of experience in Social Sciences or related fields.
  • Experience in project management, preferably in public projects and in vulnerable communities in Rio de Janeiro.
  • Experience in the social area and in coordinating fieldwork, preferably in the public sector and in vulnerable areas, is desirable.
  • Previous experience working in the United Nations is desirable.
Qualification Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, or related fields.
  • Postgraduate degree (Lato Sensu or Stricto Sensu) in Social Work, Social Sciences, or related fields is required, or additional four (4) years of relevant experience to the post, beyond the requirement.
Other Details

Languages Required: • Fluency in Portuguese is required.

Languages Preferred: • Working knowledge of any other working language of the United Nations is desirable.

Contract Duration: 3 months
