Overview
The Watershed Management Analyst will provide technical oversight of restoration and Eco-DRR interventions, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, safeguards, and quality standards. The role will also strengthen the capacity of communities and institutions to sustain interventions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide oversight of watershed and restoration activities, including validating site selection, technically supporting slope stabilization and reforestation, reviewing technical proposals, supervising implementation, and overseeing the development of a climate-resilient agricultural management and information system.
- Build community and institutional capacity through training, technical assistance, and the development of participatory monitoring tools.
- Document and share lessons and knowledge by compiling case studies, contributing to donor reports, and documenting good practices.
- Oversee, monitor, and report on EcoDRR interventions, including conducting field visits, analyzing gaps, certifying completion of works, maintaining equipment records, and contributing to annual workplans and budgeting.
- Mainstream gender and social inclusion in watershed management planning and implementation, promoting equitable participation and benefits for diverse social groups.
Required Experience
- Applicants with a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field of study are not required to have professional work experience.
- Applicants with a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) are required to have a minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience in EcoDRR, integrated watershed management, and ecosystem restoration.
Qualifications
- Advanced University Degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in Forestry, Watershed Management, Disaster Risk Management, Water Resource Engineering/ Management, Environmental Sciences, or other relevant discipline is required.
- Or
- A first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in the above-mentioned fields in combination with additional 2 years of relevant experience will be given due consideration in lieu of master’s degree.
