Overview
The Security Operations Centre (SOC) Assistant supports the safety and security of personnel, premises, assets, and operations by monitoring, facilitating, and coordinating communications using the security communications system.
Key Responsibilities
- Receives, transmits, and relays security and safety messages.
- Escalates security and safety incident notifications.
- Monitors the movement of field missions using the SCS.
- Facilitates immediate support to UNSMS personnel involved in security or safety incidents.
- Notifies UNSMS organizations when their personnel are involved in incidents.
- Monitors SCS usage and verifies its operational status.
- Undertakes personnel headcount.
- Maintains contact and residence details of UNSMS personnel, premises, and vehicles.
- Maintains UN warden lists.
- Maintains contact details of response team emergency services and support structures.
- Maintains records and logs of actions and communications.
- Prepares and submits reports as directed.
Required Experience
- A minimum of 4 years (with a high school diploma) or 1 year (with a bachelor’s degree) of IT, Security, preferably in the Military or Police context or related field of work or any other relevant field is required.
- At least 2 years experience in the customer service field desired.
Qualifications
- Secondary education (high school) is required.
- A university Degree (Bachelor’s Degree) in IT, Political Science, Military Studies, Security Management, Management or an equivalent field will be given due consideration, but it is not a requirement.
