Overview

The Linux Systems Analyst will operate and develop Linux-based platforms and services within the Information Technology Services group, ensuring efficient and effective IT operations to support the International Agency for Research on Cancer's scientific objectives.

Tasks Summary
  • Operate, maintain, and update Linux-based environments using automation.
  • Manage containerized infrastructure (docker) and CD/CI pipelines.
  • Ensure system integrity and security through updates and patches.
  • Detect, troubleshoot, and resolve service problems.
  • Monitor services and IT resources daily.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation.
  • Design, implement, and document new Linux-based services and systems.
  • Develop automation tools for daily operations.
  • Train and assist advanced IT users and provide L2/L3 support.
  • Collaborate on the management and development of the Scientific IT platform.
  • Act as backup for the Scientific IT platform administrator when needed.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of combined professional hardware and software stacks experience.
  • Experience with large system deployment and automation, Ansible, Puppet, XCat (desirable).
  • Experience in user training and support (desirable).
Qualification Requirements
  • Essential: Completion of secondary school education, plus two years of specialized studies in computer science, recognized by a diploma (BTS, DUT, license, license pro or equivalent).
  • Desirable: Engineering School specialized in IT.
Other Details

Languages Required: Excellent knowledge of English or French with working knowledge of the other language

Languages Preferred:

Contract Duration: 2 years renewable

Work Modality:

Remuneration: The fixed remuneration for the above position currently amounts to EUR 3,615 per month and is expressed net of income tax but before deduction of the employee share contributions for mandatory participation in the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF) and in the Organization’s private insurance plans covering health, accident, illness, and disability. Other benefits include different types of leave and allowances for dependent family members.
