Overview
The Public Health Specialist will coordinate the implementation of activities under the Health and Climate project, contributing to strengthening public health preparedness and response to climate-related emergencies.
Tasks Summary
- Provide technical support to project implementation related to public health preparedness and response.
- Support the implementation and monitoring of field projects activities, including Population Mobility Mapping, multi-stakeholder consultations, trainings and workshops.
- Review existing evidence and guidance related to public health including assessments.
- Identify sub-national level health partners for engagement.
- Provide technical support related to PMM adaptation, design, questionnaires, data collection tools, site selection report writing and dissemination and other logistic arrangement.
- Provide technical inputs on concept note/proposal development.
- Monitor implementation of field activities and expenditure.
- Design training materials and implementation of context-specific advocacy/information campaigns.
- Maintain liaison and information sharing with central and local authorities.
- Produce timely technical reports.
- Translate project supporting documents and materials and participate in quality control of sub-contracted translation services.
- Support the promotion and visibility of IOM activities.
- Undertake duty travel relating to project activities, as required.
Experience Requirements
- Four years of relevant professional experience in Public Health including communicable and non-communicable disease and health and emergencies.
- Experience with report writing and situation update report.
- Experience in liaising with governmental and diplomatic authorities as well as with national and international institutions.
- Familiarity with financial and business administration.
Qualification Requirements
• Master’s degree in public health or a related field from an accredited academic institution.
