Translation, Proofreading and Interpretation Support in Arabic and Ukrainian

Overview

Provide accurate and culturally appropriate translations and proofreading of texts from English into Ukrainian and Arabic, supporting UNHCR's communication and community engagement efforts.

Tasks Summary

• Translate a variety of materials from English into Ukrainian or Arabic, including social media posts, FAQs, posters, handouts, and learning materials for the UNHCR HELP page.
• Proofread and edit existing translations to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
• Assist with live correspondence and real-time interpretation for beneficiaries.
• Adapt translations to be culturally sensitive and appropriate for the target audience.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow UNHCR's communication guidelines.

Experience Requirements

• Previous experience with translation or proofreading is a plus.

Languages Required: • Fluency in English and Arabic OR in English and Ukrainian (advanced level of written and spoken skills) is required. • English, Level: Working knowledge, Required • Arabic, Level: Working knowledge, Required • Ukrainian, Level: Working knowledge, Required

Languages Preferred: • Knowledge of Russian is an advantage.
