Overview

Provide psycho-emotional support services to UNICEF Brazil personnel, strengthening mental health response and well-being initiatives.

Tasks Summary
  • Strengthen mental health response and psycho-emotional support services through an annual plan.
  • Work jointly with HR, Staff Association, and Management to create strategies for staff mental health and wellbeing.
  • Conduct assessments to understand staff needs.
  • Provide guidance for individual therapy using evidence-based approaches.
  • Create personalized management plans.
  • Educate staff on mental health, disorder prevention, and well-being strategies.
  • Develop prevention programs.
  • Provide counseling and guidance to individuals facing stressful situations, crises, or traumatic events.
  • Help develop coping skills and strategies for stress management.
  • Handle crisis situations and assess the need for urgent interventions.
  • Collaborate with emergency services in cases of imminent risk.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of recreational and psycho-pedagogical programs.
  • Continuously monitor the quality and relevance of support provided.
  • Perform any other activity required or assigned.
Experience Requirements

7 years of experience in the promotion, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health-related issues. Experience providing professional assistance in workplace and professional contexts is needed. Experience with international organizations, or organizations within the United Nations system is desirable.

Qualification Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Psychology or Psychiatry is required. A specialization or master’s degree in Mental Health is desirable. An advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Clinical Psychology or Clinical Psychiatry, with a clinical license to provide psychological counseling or psychotherapy. Additional training or certification is also required in a broad range of related fields, such as stress management, traumatic stress, cross-cultural psychology or psychiatry, alcohol/substance abuse, conflict resolution, etc. Active inscription/ registration on the CRP (Conselho Regional de Psicologia) required.
