Overview

The Health and Nutrition Officer will contribute technically to the design, planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and administration of health and nutrition program/project activities to achieve planned objectives.

Tasks Summary
  • Contribute to the implementation of SRMNIA-Nut and nutrition activities.
  • Ensure systematic nutritional screening and management of acute malnutrition.
  • Promote infant and young child feeding (IYCF), micronutrient supplementation, and deworming.
  • Contribute to growth monitoring and promotion activities.
  • Ensure availability of SRMNIA-N inputs and materials.
  • Ensure availability of quality vaccines and cold chain equipment.
  • Contribute to vaccination program activities and progress.
  • Contribute to the implementation of communication and social and behavioral change (SBC) activities.
  • Ensure quality of communication for development (C4D) sessions.
  • Strengthen the capacities of community relays, community health workers, and women's groups.
  • Integrate the child rights-based approach and equity into all interventions.
  • Identify and refer cases of vulnerability.
  • Strictly apply Child Protection, Sexual Exploitation and Abuse Prevention (SEAP) policies and the UNICEF Code of Conduct.
  • Collect, analyze, and report health and nutrition data.
  • Contribute to monitoring key indicators.
  • Participate in data reviews, coordination meetings, and joint supervisions.
  • Ensure community accountability.
  • Collaborate with health structures, local authorities, and technical partners.
  • Participate in health and nutrition sector coordination frameworks.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in health and/or nutrition.
  • Experience with projects supported by UNICEF or UN agencies strongly desired.
  • Experience in community settings and in hard-to-reach areas.
Qualification Requirements
  • Technical/vocational diploma in public health, nutrition, nursing, midwifery, or related field.
  • Certified training in nutrition, sexual and reproductive health, and vaccination is a major asset.

Languages Required: French, Level: Fluent Malinke, Level: Working knowledge

Languages Preferred: English, Level: Working knowledge

Contract Duration: 12 months (with possibility of extension)
