Overview

This consultancy involves analyzing reporting requirements for UNHQ events within UNODC’s mandates, revising templates for report sharing, and drafting monthly reports on intergovernmental and/or interagency meetings related to UNODC’s mandates, particularly on UN reform.

Tasks Summary
  • Attend official and informal meetings of intergovernmental bodies and inter-agency mechanisms;
  • Draft reports on meetings taking place at UNHQ related to UNODC’s mandates, in particular those on the UN reform;
  • Support the organization of UNODC meetings and events;
  • Develop an analysis of reporting requirements for UNHQ events within UNODC’s mandates;
  • Develop a foresight model for UNODC NYLO to anticipate expected reports on intergovernmental meetings;
  • Revise templates and mechanisms to share such reports with UNODC HQ and, as applicable, field offices, including newsletters; and
  • Draft reports on intergovernmental and/or interagency meetings related to UNODC’s mandates.
Experience Requirements

Some working experience on policy and legal frameworks related drug control, crime prevention and criminal justice is required. Some working experience in drafting analytical reports is required. Some working experience in intergovernmental meetings, such as in the provision of secretariat services or negotiations, is required.

Qualification Requirements

An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in law, social science, political science, international relations, criminology or a related field is required. A first level university degree in similar fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in English with excellent drafting and communication skills, is required.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of other United Nations official languages is an advantage.

Contract Duration: 13 April to 11 December 2026
