Overview
Consultant to draft the CEO Endorsement Request package for a GEF Biodiversity project focused on mainstreaming biodiversity in productive sectors and responsible sand value chains for coastal resilience in West Africa.
Tasks Summary
- Develop the detailed Project Workplan and Timetable.
- Description of the Core Indicators to be delivered by the project at the national levels.
- Description of the project’s approach to Knowledge Management.
- Formulation of the project Monitoring and Evaluation Plan including a Projects Result Framework and Budget.
- Update Project Financing Tables.
- Final revision of key section to make sure that structure and indicators align with GEF-style projects.
- Review and alterations of the project according to feedback from GEFSec.
Experience Requirements
- A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in the field of biodiversity conservation, ecosystem restoration, protected areas management, natural resources, climate change or related field.
- Demonstrable experience in the development and design of GEF projects and/or programmes is required.
- Experience with project development, implementation, management and monitoring and evaluation of sustainable development projects, in particular in the areas of biodiversity and ecosystem management is desirable.
- Demonstrable expertise in managing relationships and developing and maintaining strategic partnerships including across government and non-government actors is desirable.
Qualification Requirements
A Master’s degree in environmental sciences, international development or other relevant political or social sciences area is required. A first-level university degree, combined with two additional years of relevant professional experience in the required field, may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree.
