Overview
The role involves developing a spatial application based on an initial spatial information platform and its underlying database architecture, incorporating improved User Interface/User Experience and geospatial functionalities. The purpose is to deploy the spatial tool, provide documentation, and build stakeholder capacity for effective use and data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop the spatial application based on the 'GRIP' platform and its database architecture.
- Incorporate improved User Interface/User Experience and geospatial functionalities.
- Ensure compliance with UN OICT-approved standards and technologies.
- Fully deploy the spatial tool.
- Provide comprehensive documentation.
- Build stakeholder capacity through targeted training.
- Develop a user information collection component for data upload and management.
- Develop a data analysis component for reporting against indicators.
- Develop a visualization component for data and indicators.
- Develop a synthesis and reporting component for tailored reports.
Required Experience
- At least 5 years’ experience related to database development and archiving, software systems analysis, design, and development is required.
- Experience in geospatial information management with a strong background in data monitoring, reporting, and visualization for environmental or development programs is required.
Qualifications
- An advanced degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Data Science/Analytics, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Software Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.
- A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience in the required field may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree.
