Overview

The Finance Associate will be responsible and accountable for managing the resources management functions in the Country Office, assisting in managing financial resources and preparing financial reports.

Tasks Summary
  • Assist in managing financial resources by monitoring and controlling assets, reserves, funds, supplies, etc.
  • Assist in preparing annual budget submission and revisions.
  • Extract and input data from various sources in financial or accounting systems.
  • Assist providing guidance in accounting, budget and financial related issues.
  • Assist in the preparation of the payroll.
  • Reviews all types of payments.
  • Verify vendor claims for accuracy and conformance with IOM finance policies.
  • Perform claim verifications against documentation.
  • Prepare necessary receipt and journal vouchers.
  • Perform bank reconciliations.
  • Assist in the preparation of budget, accounting, financial, statistical reports.
  • Provide assistance to all staff services such as travel, expense claims, document retrieval, advance settlement.
  • Ensure proper and systematic completion of all posted payments and other accounting documents.
  • Responsible for the Petty Cash of the office and other treasury/payment related tasks.
  • Maintain an organized filing system for financial documents.
  • Assist with preparation and submission of VAT refund claims.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Experience Requirements
  • High School diploma with five years of relevant experience; or, Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Accounting, Finances, or related fields with three years of relevant professional experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications e.g. Word, Excel (including pivot tables), PowerPoint, E-mail, Outlook; previous experience in SAP/Oracle is a distinct advantage.
  • Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of financial accounting principles, vendor reconciliation, and bank account reconciliation.
Qualification Requirements

High School diploma or Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Accounting, Finances, or related fields.
