Overview
Provides procurement and operational support to projects, ensuring compliance with UN/UNDP rules and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supports procurement processes for projects, including preparation of procurement plans, market research, organization of procurement processes, preparation of tender evaluation reports, and submission of cases to committees.
- Prepares contracts, vendors, and purchase orders (POs), and monitors project procurement contracts.
- Maintains filing systems for procurement documents and handles local shopping/micro-canvas processes.
- Ensures proper control of project assets and handles transportation and import/export formalities.
- Supports implementation of operational strategies, focusing on full compliance of procurement activities with UN/UNDP rules.
- Reviews project financial transactions and expenses.
- Supports building partnerships through regular communication with partners and stakeholders.
- Supports knowledge building and knowledge sharing on procurement.
Required Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years (with secondary education) or two (2) years (with bachelor’s degree) of relevant experience in administration or procurement at the national or international level.
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) and advance knowledge of spreadsheet.
- Valid driver’s license is a requirement.
- Previous work experience in UNDP is an asset.
- Civil engineering background is desired.
- Experience in supporting project financial management is an asset.
- Experience in procurement is an asset.
- Experience in working with multiple stakeholders is an asset.
Qualifications
- Secondary Education is required.
- University degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Economics or equivalent will be given due consideration, but it is not a requirement.
- CIPS level 2 is highly desirable.
