Overview

Provides procurement and operational support to projects, ensuring compliance with UN/UNDP rules and regulations.


Key Responsibilities
  • Supports procurement processes for projects, including preparation of procurement plans, market research, organization of procurement processes, preparation of tender evaluation reports, and submission of cases to committees.
  • Prepares contracts, vendors, and purchase orders (POs), and monitors project procurement contracts.
  • Maintains filing systems for procurement documents and handles local shopping/micro-canvas processes.
  • Ensures proper control of project assets and handles transportation and import/export formalities.
  • Supports implementation of operational strategies, focusing on full compliance of procurement activities with UN/UNDP rules.
  • Reviews project financial transactions and expenses.
  • Supports building partnerships through regular communication with partners and stakeholders.
  • Supports knowledge building and knowledge sharing on procurement.
Required Experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years (with secondary education) or two (2) years (with bachelor’s degree) of relevant experience in administration or procurement at the national or international level.
  • Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) and advance knowledge of spreadsheet.
  • Valid driver’s license is a requirement.
  • Previous work experience in UNDP is an asset.
  • Civil engineering background is desired.
  • Experience in supporting project financial management is an asset.
  • Experience in procurement is an asset.
  • Experience in working with multiple stakeholders is an asset.
Qualifications
  • Secondary Education is required.
  • University degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Economics or equivalent will be given due consideration, but it is not a requirement.
  • CIPS level 2 is highly desirable.
