Overview
The Communications Senior Associate will support the development and implementation of communication strategies for UNOPS Brazil's PPP portfolio, contributing to the positioning of the office and the development of PPP projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for UNOPS' PPP portfolio, assisting project teams in planning and executing communication activities.
- Support the PPP portfolio's communication strategy and annual work plan.
- Assist in producing content for social media, ensuring timely updates and monitoring engagement.
- Consolidate contributions from various units to produce internal and external communication products.
- Support internal communication training sessions for staff and partners.
- Develop and maintain updated content in various formats and channels, ensuring consistent application of UNOPS guidelines.
- Maintain updated communication materials, photo/video banks, and archives.
- Produce communication materials highlighting project achievements.
- Draft stories and articles for publication in local or international media.
- Prepare materials for events, missions, and meetings with current and potential partners.
- Share publications and information among teams and partners.
- Support coordination and participation in meetings with donors and partners.
- Produce high-quality analyses and summaries.
- Conduct country-specific research focusing on PPP portfolio priorities and partnership opportunities.
- Support the organization, facilitation, and delivery of training and learning sessions on communication topics.
- Participate in knowledge-sharing initiatives and Communities of Practice.
- Conduct research on communication-related topics and contribute to reports, summaries, and briefing notes.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in communication, public relations, media, journalism, or related areas.
- A combination of 3 years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree or 1 year of experience with master's level education will also be accepted.
- Experience in supporting the development and implementation of communication strategies.
- Experience in the development and creation of diverse communication materials and content (written, audiovisual, etc.).
- Desirable: Experience in institutional communication and/or press relations.
- Desirable: Experience in communication for projects involving public and private entities, PPPs, and/or public contracts.
- Desirable: Experience with topics related to economy, business, and development.
- Desirable: Experience in multicultural environments or international organizations of the UN system.
- Desirable: Experience in the use of graphic design tools, video production, and content creation.
Qualifications
- Mandatory: High school diploma (or equivalent) with 7 years of relevant experience in communication OR Bachelor's degree (or equivalent), preferably in Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Advertising, or related fields, with 3 years of relevant experience in these areas.
- Desirable: Recognized national or international professional certificate in Communication, Journalism, or Digital Media Communication.
