Overview
The role involves supporting power systems planning engagements for all six regions, focusing on developing least-cost generation and transmission plans, renewable energy integration, and financial analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively work with EPM, PSS/E and other planning tools to conduct modeling analysis;
- Liaise with Task Team Leaders and project teams from the regions (including IFC) to develop a definition of the problem, advise solutions, prepare TORs for the work, undertake studies and review outputs;
- Participate in missions as a planning specialist to discuss system planning and project specific issues;
- Conduct training courses on power system planning for our client countries; and
- Mentor junior team members.
Required Experience
At least 5 years of relevant professional experience.
Qualifications
Masters/PhD degree with specialization in power systems engineering, and/or operations research and/or energy economics.
