Overview
Oversee field operations, conduct quantitative analyses, and coordinate stakeholders for a socioeconomic data collection activity among refugees and internally displaced persons in Cameroon.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational planning and supervision of fieldwork
- Coordination and facilitation of an expert working group
- Participation in training of field teams/enumerators
- Oversight and implementation of cognitive testing of the survey instrument
- Securing and managing access to camps and displacement sites
- Data quality assurance, ethical compliance, and risk management
- Analyze socio-economic data collected from refugees and IDPs.
- Draft relevant reports and blogs
- Dissemination of findings to stakeholders
Required Experience
- At least 5 years of experience conducting large-scale surveys in fragile, conflict, and violence (FCV) or displacement settings in Sub-Saharan Africa; experience in Cameroon is a strong advantage.
- Proven ability to secure access and operate in camps/displacement sites in coordination with government and humanitarian actors.
- Track record in field management, ethical data collection with vulnerable populations, and implementation of DQA systems for CAPI surveys.
- Demonstrated analytical capacity in quantitative data management and analysis, with reproducible workflows (Stata/R/Python).
- Proficiency with CAPI platforms (SurveyCTO/Kobo) and mobile device management; secure data transfer, encryption, and backup procedures.
- Documented data protection and anonymization protocols aligned with best practices and national/institutional requirements.
- 5+ years leading multi-stakeholder field operations in FCV contexts; experience with humanitarian coordination and government engagement.
- Strong skills in survey methods, CAPI design, and DQA; strong coding skills in Stata/R/Python; experience with data documentation and anonymization.
