Overview

The Knowledge Management and Communications Specialist will lead the implementation of knowledge management and communication strategies for the Joint Programme ‘Accelerating Progress Towards Rural Women’s Economic Empowerment’ (JP RWEE). The role aims to economically empower rural women through a holistic, integrated approach.


Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and adapt the knowledge management strategy.
  • Brief country teams on the KM strategy and support their plans.
  • Revamp and orient country teams on the use of a KM platform.
  • Develop and disseminate global and country-level knowledge products.
  • Create a culture of learning within the programme.
  • Adapt the communications strategy for JP RWEE Phase II.
  • Develop annual global communications plans and provide technical support for country plans.
  • Develop communication annual reports.
  • Support the review of KM and communications annexes of annual workplans.
  • Develop a plan to maintain the JP RWEE website and create web content.
  • Liaise with web developers and coordinate with participating UN agencies for content cross-promotion.
  • Monitor website traffic and suggest optimizations.
  • Develop high-quality communications products (newsletters, briefs, factsheets, stories).
  • Develop infographics, visuals, and layouts.
  • Create a repository of JP RWEE branding guidelines, visual assets, and templates.
  • Identify communication and outreach needs and target audiences.
  • Generate donor-specific visibility content.
  • Develop and maintain a contact database.
  • Maintain an internal photo library.
  • Support the preparation of in-person and virtual events.
  • Revamp an inter-agency communications working group.
  • Implement and adapt the JP RWEE social media strategy.
  • Produce social media content and develop platforms.
  • Develop and implement a social media posting schedule.
  • Monitor and analyze digital and social media sites.
  • Coordinate with agency communications focal points for social media cross-promotion.
  • Monitor and report on social media analytics.
  • Develop guidance for country-level communications and conduct orientation sessions.
  • Provide training and guide country teams to produce communication material.
  • Support the development and roll-out of country-level communications and dissemination plans.
  • Attend and support meetings as requested.
  • Perform other duties as required, including contributions to reports and digitalization of programme templates.
Required Experience
  • At least 3 years of related work experience and/or trainings/courses.
  • Experienced in applying specialized communications techniques to strengthen functional outputs.
  • Proven experience in developing and managing KM platforms and websites.
  • Brings additional expertise in graphic and web design to enhance content delivery and user engagement.
Qualifications

• Advanced University degree in Journalism, International Relations, Public Relations, Communications or other relevant field.

Languages Required
• Fluency (level C) in English language. • Intermediate knowledge (level B) of a second official UN language: Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish, and/or Portuguese.
