Overview

The intern will support the Sustainable Development Section (SDS) in integrating human rights into sustainable development and global economic policymaking. The role focuses on increasing the visibility and outreach of SDS's work through various communication channels.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Sustainable Development Section (SDS) in integrating human rights into sustainable development and global economic policymaking.
  • Increase the visibility and outreach of SDS's work through information available on the OHCHR website, its intranet, communication and awareness materials for both internal and external consumption.
  • Develop creative ideas for reaching various audiences.
Required Experience

No prior experience is necessary.

Qualifications
  • Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
  • Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
  • Education background in law, communications, international relations is desirable.

Languages Required
Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.
Contract Duration
Three (3) months, with the possibility of extension up to a total combined period of six (6) months.

Remuneration
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
