Overview
The ICT Associate will oversee the design, integration, and sustainability of ICT systems that support hazard monitoring and early warning dissemination. The role ensures quality assurance, cybersecurity, and user capacity for technical development undertaken by specialized firms.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee ICT system development, including planning, implementation, and procurement of software and hardware for data management and digital innovation.
- Review ICT architecture, applications, and tools, ensuring they meet user requirements and UNDP standards.
- Conduct regular monitoring to identify gaps in digital technology adoption and propose solutions.
- Train government staff and end-users on ICT tools and digital platforms.
- Support knowledge management and sharing by contributing ICT lessons to reports and highlighting innovative digital solutions.
- Certify completion and quality of ICT equipment works and maintain equipment records.
- Ensure digital accessibility and inclusiveness in ICT systems, promoting gender-responsive and inclusive data management.
- Integrate project-supported ICT systems into national Disaster Information Management Systems.
Required Experience
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in ICT systems management (with secondary education).
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in ICT systems management (with bachelor’s degree).
- Preferably in a development or DRR context.
Qualifications
- Secondary education is required with formal training in IT systems, business software and/or web-based applications.
- A university degree (bachelor´s degree) in ICT, Information Management, Computer Science or other relevant disciplines will be given due consideration but is not a requirement.
