Overview
The incumbent will be responsible for implementing standard logistics/supply chain processes and activities to enable effective delivery of goods and services. The role includes supporting communication with HQ for international shipments and tracking shipments to their destinations.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinating with partners and internal stakeholders to receive, compile, consolidate and allocate dispatches.
- Coordinating vessel arrivals and departures.
- Allocating resources such as transport vehicles, port personnel for cargo handling operations.
- Supervising cargo loading and unloading processes, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and customer requirements.
- Handling cargo transfers to storage or transportation.
- Ensuring smooth coordination of vessel schedules, docking, and documentation.
- Providing support to logistics operations and activities.
- Supporting timely ordering and delivery of commodities and supplies.
- Supporting management of logistics vendors’ contracting activities.
- Responding to technical queries/requests for support.
- Contributing to budget preparation, monitoring and revision.
- Assisting in monitoring inventory management processes.
- Assisting in management of commodity accounting data quality and integrity.
- Supporting operational pipeline analyses, assessments and operational planning.
- Processing documentation for execution of logistics operations.
- Collecting and compiling data, producing and/or contributing to reports.
- Liaising with internal and limited number of external stakeholders.
- Providing guidance to other support staff.
Required Experience
At least 5 years’ experience in logistics services preferably operations and shipping.
Qualifications
Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area is desirable.
