Overview
Contribute to the development of nutrition projects and activities, plans and processes, ensuring alignment with wider nutrition policies and guidance. Provide project management support to specific and defined nutrition projects and activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of nutrition projects and activities, plans and processes.
- Provide project management support to specific and defined nutrition projects and activities.
- Develop and co-ordinate data gathering and monitoring/assessment systems.
- Track and analyse data to provide input into reporting activities.
- Liaise with implementing partners to monitor ongoing projects.
- Support the identification of potential partners and partnership negotiations.
- Support the capacity building of WFP staff, partners and national government.
- Guide more junior staff.
- Act in an assigned emergency response capacity as required.
Required Experience
- At least three (3) years of relevant professional experience in implementation of national/international development programmes.
- At least 2 years in delivery of nutrition specific projects and activities with exposure to identifying and defining nutrition issues/problems within a country.
- Public Health Nutrition in crisis and recovery environments experience is desired.
- Experience with governments counterparts and other partners on implementing nutrition programmes, strategies and action plans is an added advantage.
Qualifications
Advanced University degree in Public Health Nutrition, Food Technology, Medicine, International Affairs, Agriculture, Social Sciences or relevant field. A first level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
