Overview
This is a frontline protective security role focused on safeguarding people, information, and assets. The role involves monitoring and patrolling premises to protect against various threats.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct high-visibility foot patrols to deter unauthorised access and prevent prohibited items.
- Operate and monitor access control, CCTV/alarms, and scanning systems.
- Contribute to 24-hour armed control of entry, including person/vehicle searching.
- Report deficiencies in security systems/processes.
- Detect, respond to, and investigate security incidents/violations.
- Assist in the protection of key executives and visitors.
- Follow procedures for approved personnel access to classified information and restricted areas.
- Identify and report potential security and health & safety risks.
- Take initial actions on security incidents, suspected breaches, thefts, and vandalism.
- Produce clear written and verbal reports and operate relevant security systems.
- Undertake on-the-job and professional training.
Required Experience
- 1 year post-related experience with higher vocational training OR 3 years post-related experience with secondary qualification.
- Relevant police/security background (minimum 1 year).
- Experience of access control and patrolling duties.
- Experience working with electronic and physical security systems in a Security Control Centre context.
- Experience in emergency response and first aid skills.
- Desirable: Experience/knowledge using lethal and non-lethal weapons.
- Desirable: Knowledge of NATO security regulations and procedures.
- Desirable: Experience in an international environment with military and civilian elements.
Qualifications
• Higher vocational training in a relevant discipline OR secondary qualification.
