Overview
The role aims to increase collaboration and strengthen relationships between law enforcement in the African region and the Cybercrime Directorate, ensuring cohesive delivery of activities against organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote and stimulate collaboration between the Cybercrime Directorate and the Africa region, identifying and proposing solutions for cooperation problems.
- Facilitate and control the exchange of personal data and other operational information with regional law enforcement.
- Identify regional cyberthreats to focus operations and liaise with key personnel for planning.
- Represent and/or present at relevant events in the Africa region.
- Monitor organizational and strategic developments of the respective African Regional Bureau.
- Ensure planning, coordination, and implementation of Cybercrime Directorate projects and initiatives.
- Advise INTERPOL management on improving cooperation and adapting Cybercrime Directorate priorities.
- Perform any other related duties as required.
Required Experience
- Five years’ experience in the cybercrime and law enforcement areas.
- Experience in international cooperation and investigations.
- Current responsibility for cybercrime-related crime investigations.
- Demonstrated experience in forensic analysis, including the examination, preservation and interpretation of digital or physical evidence in support of criminal investigations.
Qualifications
- Experienced police officer, police staff or official able to demonstrate equivalent professional experience/training in the sector of police area/law enforcement agencies.
- University degree in a relevant domain (Masters or Doctorate would be an additional asset).
- Recognized training in forensic science, digital forensics, cyber-investigations, or other applied disciplines relevant to evidence analysis.
