Overview
The intern will assist in delivering Secretariat functions including planning and organizing meetings and events, undertaking research, and developing and updating information tools to raise awareness on environmental issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Support IRP Secretariat functions including organizing annual in-person and annual virtual meetings of the IRP, as well as other meetings, consultations, webinars organized by the Secretariat.
- Support the development and implementation of the International Resource Panel communications activities and administrative tasks.
- Design various information tools (reports, flyers, factsheets etc.).
- Regularly update various information platforms, including IRP website.
- Draft articles and posts for the IRP social media channels.
- Identify and implement strategies for the use of AI tools to support Secretariat functions
- Undertake desktop research for reporting purposes and outreach activities.
- Support the organization of meetings and events.
- Attend meetings, draft related minutes, and follow up on action items as required.
- Support the compilation of inputs into briefing notes, and format/edit according to the established protocols.
- Support the IRP in finalizing /formatting PowerPoint presentations.
- Track and analyze communication performance (website traffic, social media engagement, downloads of reports).
- Support the identification of funding opportunities and contribute to donor mapping.
Required Experience
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.
Qualifications
- Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
- Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent);
- Have graduated with a university degree and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one-year period of graduation.
Final year undergraduate or master's degree student in communications, international relations, development studies, economics, environmental studies.
