Overview
The nurse role is part of the Medical Service and is responsible for performing technical medical procedures for staff at NATO HQ, assessing health conditions, providing first-aid and emergency response, and handling administrative duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Performing technical medical procedures including injections, electrocardiograms, eye and ear tests, blood sampling, vaccinations.
- Assessing health conditions.
- Providing first-aid and emergency response.
- Handling support duties of an administrative nature.
- Collecting, categorising, and tracking relevant information.
- Storing medical records and relevant statistics.
- Drafting different documents.
- Preparing orders for pharmaceutical and other supplies.
- Assisting the Medical Officer and Senior Nurse in occupational health and safety tasks.
- Communicating with insurance, pharmaceutical and other suppliers.
- Giving dispensary level care and assisting the team in carrying out technical acts.
- Arranging for transfer to hospital when necessary.
- Assisting the team in deployment related activities.
- Maintaining proper hygiene, sterilization of instruments and cleanliness of medical premises.
Required Experience
- A minimum of 3 years post-related experience in nursing.
- Proven ability to respond effectively in emergency care and/or high-pressure clinical situations.
- Excellent understanding of occupational health.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to handle administrative responsibilities efficiently.
- Solid clinical experience combined with a high level of professional judgment and autonomy (advantage).
Qualifications
• Possess an A1 graduate diploma relevant for the position or Bachelor’s degree of Science (BNS) in nursing (be State Registered).
