Overview

Responsible for the implementation of anti-corruption technical assistance activities in Latin America and the Caribbean, providing legal and policy guidance, technical assistance, and practical support to anti-corruption bodies.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide substantive support, guidance and assistance in the design and development of technical assistance programmes and programme sub-components in anti-corruption.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to national authorities, academia, the private sector and civil society.
  • Provide advisory services and technical expertise to specialized anti-corruption bodies and environmental agencies.
  • Monitor and review best practices, methodologies and programmes in the area of anti-corruption.
  • Contribute to, monitor and analyse programme and project development and implementation; identify opportunities to raise funds and support fundraising proposals.
  • Organize and prepare written outputs, e.g. policy and programmatic reports, draft background papers, analysis, sections of reports and studies, inputs to publications.
  • Provide substantive backstopping to consultative and other meetings, conferences, etc.
  • Design and conduct training workshops and seminars; make presentations on assigned topics/activities.
  • Participate in large, complex field missions.
  • Cooperate and coordinate with field offices and other relevant entities on anti-corruption matters.
  • Collect and analyze data to identify trends or patterns and provides insights using data visualization methods.
Required Experience

A minimum of five years of progressively responsible professional experience working within or providing advisory services to anti-corruption bodies or investigating and prosecuting corruption cases in anti-corruption agency, law enforcement, prosecution service or the judiciary; or working as technical adviser on good governance or anti-corruption in international organizations or a non-governmental organization is required. Work experience in project or programme management is required. Work experience with counterparts in Latin America and the Caribbean is desirable. Experience related to addressing corruption as it relates to crimes that affect the environment is desirable. Work experience within the United Nations system or similar international organizations, as well as servicing intergovernmental bodies, is desirable. Experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.

Qualifications

Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in business, law, international relations, economics, political and social sciences or a related discipline is required. A first-level university degree in similar fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
